Holster opened the sliding glass door and stepped out into the pleasant June heat. It was the first day that really felt like summer, the sun shining bright overhead, and he and Ransom had decided to spend the day at their apartment’s pool sunbathing and relaxing. They didn’t get much time to take it easy, between Ransom’s med school craziness and work for Holster, they had to take advantage of any time off they had together.
He spotted Ransom laying face down on one of the patio chaises in those purple swim trunks that did his ass all kinds of favors. Holster got lost staring for a moment before he realized he could go over and get a better, up close look, so he wandered over and realized as he got closer that Ransom was snoozing.
Luckily, he’d picked a spot under one of the umbrellas so Holster wasn’t worried about him burning. Ransom looked so peaceful and freakin’ adorable when he slept.
Holster grinned, kneeling down near Ransom’s head to gently cup the back of it and stroke his thumb slowly across his temple.
Ransom stirred, pouting and mumbling unintelligibly. Holster’s smile widened when he peaked one eye open.
“Hey, gorgeous,” Holster whispered.
Ransom whimpered and grabbed lightly at Holster’s arm, “You want me to join you? I don’t know if we’ll both fit on that chair.”
When Ransom didn’t stop whining and making grabby hands at him, Holster huffed an amused sigh and did his best to situate the both of them on the chaise so they didn’t topple off either side.
Ransom promptly burrowed his face into the crook of Holster’s neck, taking a deep breath in, and relaxing again.
“You happy now?” Holster chuckled.
“Mhm,” was all the response he got, but he could feel the dopey grin Ransom was sporting against his neck, so he laughed and closed his eyes to enjoy the moment.
